Daventry Hill School, Daventry

Daventry Hill School forms part of Daventry District Council’s learning quarter plan, which is a co-educationa,l all-through school for pupils with special educational needs. The school caters for pupils with mild to profound learning difficulties, including those with physical disabilities and is built close to the town centre, reducing the distance children need to travel to other special schools in Northampton and across the boundary into Warwickshire.

GBE Converge were appointed to the project by main contractor BAM to design, supply, install and commission all fire, refuge and WC Alarms, access control, CCTV and intruder alarm systems to the building.

During the design phase GBE Converge demonstrated their understanding of this specialist environment by specifying a Gent alarm system with voice enhanced sounders that can be uploaded with any digitally recorded sounds. This allows for bespoke music to be played during the event of a fire warning ensuring the children are caused a minimum of distress.

GBE Converge’s other partners on the project included Baldwin Boxall for refuge alarms, Ctec for WC alarms, Plan for access control, HIK for CCTV and Honeywell Security for the intruder system.
