Kings Cross R7, London

King’s Cross is one of the largest and most exciting redevelopments in London. The 67-acre site has a rich history and a unique setting, and what was an underused industrial wasteland, is being transformed into a vibrant, new part of the city. It’s the largest single ownership mixed-use scheme in London for over 150 years

GBE Converge were appointed by main contractor Kier to design, supply, install and commission all fire and life safety systems, PA/VA, access control (with lift designation control) and CCTV

R7 is a part of this redevelopment and will provide a highly flexible, mixed-use building bringing 155,079 sq ft of office space to King’s Cross, along with retail opportunities, a restaurant, an Everyman cinema and a gallery. The office building, designed by Duggan Morris Architects, comprises of 10 floors and has been designed to be environmentally aware and achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘Outstanding’.

GBE Converge have been appointed by main contractor Kier to design, supply, install and commission all fire and life safety systems, PA/VA, access control (with lift designation control) and CCTV. GBE Converge will be working with partners Gent by Honeywell for all fire systems, Honeywell Life Safety for the PAVA, Baldwin Boxall for disabled refuge and WC alarms, Gallagher for access control, Commend for the door entry systems and Milestone for CCTV.
