GBE Converge were appointed by main contractor Wates to supply, install and commission all life-safety and security to the Barts Square redevelopment in London. In addition, GBE Converge installed the CAT 6 infrastructure for the home entertainment systems to the residential apartments.
GBE Converge worked with partners Gent who supplied all fire detection equipment, Xplan the access control system and HIK Vision for CCTV. Baldwin Boxall provided the Disabled Refuge system.
The 2.3 acre, mixed-use development in West Smithfield was formerly occupied by Barts Hospital. The project includes 236 apartments, 230,000 sq ft of office space across two buildings and 23,000 sq ft of complimentary retail/restaurant/café use.
Helical Bar developed the scheme in a joint venture with US developer Baupost Group and works were completed in the summer of 2017.
