It’s been over six months since we joined Mitie Group in November 2023, and the time has flown by!
Founded in 1987, Mitie is the leading facilities management company in the UK. They offer a range of services to the public and private sectors, in areas such as Financial and Professional Services, Industrials, Retail and Transport.
We were acquired to build on Mitie’s position as the leader in the intelligence and technology-led Fire and Security markets. This followed additional acquisitions last year of Linx International in April and RHI Industrials in May.
When the acquisition was announced, Phil Bentley, Group Chief Executive, Mitie, said: “We are delighted to welcome the GBE Converge team to the Group. As our customers’ needs for facilities transformation evolve and demand grows for ‘smart buildings’, Building Management Systems are increasingly converging with Fire and Security platforms. The acquisition of GBE Converge brings sophisticated intelligence-based Fire and Security capabilities and enables Mitie to broaden the range of projects we can self-deliver for our customers in the built environment.”
Since joining Mitie, we have also been working more closely with JCA Engineering who were acquired a few months before us, in September 2023. This has opened up more opportunities to collaborate on delivering complex engineering projects in critical environments, such as data centres.
2024 has been an exciting year so far, getting to know some of our 64,000 colleagues across Mitie, and working to deliver the exceptional, every day.
