GBE Converge Continue Partnership with Solent Stevedores at Port of Southampton Rail Terminal

Solent Stevedores is a multi-award-winning private specialist port operator working throughout UK, Channel Islands and Singapore. The Company operates long term contractual activities in the Port of Southampton, the River Thames, DP World London Gateway, the Port of St Helier in Jersey, and the Port of Immingham.

As a long-standing GBE Converge client, we have delivered IT support services and data infrastructure across multiple Solent Stevedore sites. Currently, we are providing support with design and deployment of multiple safety, security, and communication infrastructure at the new container railyard terminal in Southampton.

The rail terminal handles approximately 1,200 rail services annually, transferring 60,000 import and export containers between DP World Southampton and rail terminals nationwide. We’re currently two years into the £500k, three-year project, where we are installing a site-wide fibre network, active IT equipment, vehicle barriers, access control and CCTV. For the multiple vehicle barriers and traffic light systems we have partnered with Automatic Systems, a world leader in the automation of secure entrance controls.
