John Thornley, GBE Converge’s After Sales and Maintenance (ASM) Manager, explains what the ASM Division does and the value it provides to our customers.

What does the GBE Converge ASM Division provide customers?

The ASM Division manages our vital end-user client relationships, I like to view it as the ‘beating-heart’ of the GBE Converge Fire and Security business. Our work covers securing maintenance contracts, account management and support, reactive and minor works. We’re also involved in larger end-user and office fit-out works. We offer end-users design, installation and maintenance of fire alarm, life safety, security systems and related services which we provide directly or via selected, specialist partners. Customer care and support is key to our business model and we provide 24/7 reactive support, when required.

What type of customers is the ASM Division supporting?

Our customer base is very broad and incorporates blue-chip, corporate organisations, data centres, high-end residential and organisations within the health and education sectors, but we are actively growing the business across all regions and sectors. Our aim is to build relationships directly with end-users and their facilities management partners.

Our capabilities are unique within the UK marketplace and this is a fact and not my sales pitch!

Our model allows us to span both the ‘direct-to-end-user’ market and the ‘large construction project’ market, with a broad in-house capability. In addition to fire and security systems, we offer data, networking and IT solutions in-house, including specialist product partnerships, providing us access to specialist marketplaces.

Are there any technological features of our service that are of significant benefit to customers?

To provide transparency in Servicing and Maintenance for our fire alarm customers, we deploy our unique DeFacto cloud-based monitoring system. This allows customers to check in real-time the progress of their preventative maintenance activity, weekly bell test progress and all events and faults. Nothing is left to chance.  GBE Converge is a technology business fundamentally and we are at the forefront of using technology that helps keep our customers safe, secure and connected.
