GBE Converge have been appointed by Wates to supply and install the Life Safety systems to the new Squadron Headquarters at RAF Marham in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
The £27m project was the first awarded to Wates under the Defence Infrastructure Organisation’s (DIO) Next Generation Estate Contract (NGEC) framework. The work will see Wates build new facilities to house the new F-35B II Lightning aircraft, which will come into service in 2018 and is part of The Ministry of Defence’s investment of £135m in new facilities in preparation for this arrival.
GBE Converge will be supplying, installing and commissioning a Gent by Honeywell Fire Detection and Alarm system, the Public Address system supplied by TOA Electric Corporation and Gas Suppression from Johnson Controls.

GBE’s work commenced in August 2017 and is scheduled to complete in March 2018.
