Reports to the Sales Manager

To identify, develop and close sales opportunities (equipment, systems and maintenance) with existing and potential customers. Build relationships with clients to up-sell and cross-sell our services. Assist Service Department colleagues to sell products and services. Manage software and service renewals. Quote, sell and process sales opportunities between GBEC departments.

 

Key tasks & Experience

Duties and responsibilities

  • Achieve a revenue and margin targets set by the business.
  • Response times in line with the Sales and Account Management SLA.
  • Licenses and warranty renewals are not missed
  • CRM and sales documentation is up to date and correctly stored.
  • Generate new business opportunities via prospecting, qualifying, selling and closing hardware and software solutions and services.
  • Generate new fire, security & IT maintenance opportunities via existing client contacts, via prospective client’s web-portals, targeted campaigns. This will involve an element of phone calling to information gather & record, qualify requirements & opportunities.
  • Undertake quotes for systems maintenance of our broad range of systems, products & services.
  • Compile more complex quotes for small projects and on behalf of account managers where specific parts and times are provided.
  • Take ownership of service, license and warranty renewals and ensure they are quoted and closed prior to expiry.
  • Manage customer accounts to ensure sales opportunities are maximised, contracts are profitable and customer service issues are dealt with promptly.
  • Building and developing strong relationships and trust with customers.
  • Assist GBE Converge Sales team with any sales activities including processing orders, tender responses, producing customer reports, getting pricing and product information.
  • Customer account administration to ensure systems are up to date, sales opportunities are logged and customer service issues are escalated promptly.
  • Assist GBE Converge with any marketing campaigns or sales activities including conferences and events.
  • Assist GBE Converge with web site content and social media.
  • Provide excellent and effective customer service at all times.
  • Ensure all paper work and systems relating to sales and accounts are up to date.
  • Maximise the quality & quantity of sales proposals generated and assist with the sales to installation hand-over phase.
  • Any other duties requested by your line manager.
  • Prepare your Personal Development Plan before every review meeting.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Sales prospecting, lead generation and closing the deal with a proven ability to build rapport, influence and facilitate the buying process.
  • Commercially aware and confident creating quotes and proposals
  • commitment to providing first class customer service
  • Should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, written, over the phone and face to face.
  • Will have a willingness to learn new products or technologies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident, disciplined, organised and self-motivated, hardworking, team player
  • Presentable with good client-facing skills & attitude
  • General IT skills essential for using word, excel, outlook and other software packages
  • Experience and comfortable with working to tight deadlines

Working conditions

The typical working environment will be office locations either at GBE Converge office or customer offices.  However, there will be times when you will be expected to visit building sites, dock yards, retail shops, outdoor sites and care facilities.

The role requires that they will be available to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays on request.

Physical requirements

Long periods of working in front of a VDU with regular breaks is common.  You may be required to travel long journeys to visit customer sites and review potential projects
