How did you get into what you do?
I have always been a people person, so when I left school I successfully interviewed for a customer contact role at a call centre – it felt like a logical move.
As my career progressed, it became clear that my strengths were understanding, assisting and communicating with consumers.
At GBE Converge, I am able to utilise these skills on a daily basis through ensuring we deliver on our customer expectations of products and services.
What attracted you to working at GBE Converge?
I was looking for a forward-thinking company where my ideas and contributions would be valued and heard.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
I really feel like my contribution is making a difference to the bottom line. With the support of my line manager, my days always feel productive and I love being able to come in and plan my tasks for the day. We have a fantastic, inclusive team culture and the people here really make the company shine.
It is definitely the most positive place I have ever worked!
What has been your favourite piece of work so far?
I really enjoy assisting our sales team in surveying some really unique sites, and I am extremely lucky in that no two days are the same. I can start my day visiting a school for a survey, then end it in an exclusive 21-storey building. The variety really keeps me focused.
What is your proudest achievement to date?
Together with my manager, we submitted GBE Converge to be entered into the Gloucestershire Business Awards 2019 for Business of the Year.
We have since been shortlisted as one of three finalists to win!
How do you see career developing?
The main focus of my role involves growing the maintenance side of our fire and security business. This involves a balanced mix of hands-on learning, as well as attending official training with partners such as FIKE. I have also really enriched my product knowledge through specialist conferences and road shows such as IFSEC International, these are great for keeping up to date with all the latest fire and security industry trends.
As my role develops, my manager is also keen to support my development with formal industry qualifications.
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
I’m a Black Belt 1stDan in Wadō-ryū Karate which I’ve studied for 13 years!
